This year we ran the 9th Wildcat Rally a weekend of Bikes Beer and Bands. A good turnout of old and new faces ensured an excellent weekend for all.

RUN OUT BEFORE BBQ
MET FATTIE,SONIC & BRUCE AT SKIACH HAD GROCERIES THEN SET OFF!
SOMEONE WORKED OUT A ROUTE AVOIDING EVERY PETROL STATION IN THE NORTH OF SCOTLAND HOPING THE VMAX WOULD RUN OUT.
WE SET OFF UP THE STRUIE TOWARDS BONAR BRIDGE THEN TURNED UP THE HILL HEADING TO MIGDALE HOSPITAL ONTO A ROAD THAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS AN APPRENTICE TO THE GLEN LOTH ROAD. ONE OF THE PREVIOUS RUNS OUT NAVIGATOR ON THAT ONE WAS DONNIE NOW HE HAS GLASSES HE MIGHT CHOOSE A BETTER ROUTE THE NEXT TIME! WITH WEE BITS OF GRASS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SHEEP & COO SHITE EVERYWHERE SONIC NOT BEING A NATIVE TO THE AREA I CAN TELL HIM NOW THE GRAVEL & STONE LIKE PELLETS HITTING HIM IN THE FACE WAS SUN DRIED SHEEP SHITE, SO IT TOOK US OUT AT LOCH FLEET BEFORE THE MOUND , THEN WE TURNED TOWARDS ROGART & ANOTHER SINGLE TRACK ROAD TAKING US TO BRORA WHERE IT WAS A FUEL STOP & ICE CREAM STOP AT CAPALDIS, RAINED THERE & FOUND SHELTER UNDER HANGING FLOWER BASKETS, GOT BACK TO DUNBEATH WHERE DRINKING HAD TO BE DONE

20th July Run Out
3 daft buggers that didnt have the sense to stay under the duvet this morning set off from Tescos, A new route was picked due to the pissing rain in the general direction that we were meant to be going. So a blustery run down the East coast was picked so that we could go and get Sonic to make us a cup of tea or 2. Much blethers and discussions setting the world to right before waiting for a lull in the weather and we all set off for home again. So much for a lull in the weather I think I have strained my neck muscles coming back up the causewaymire... Not to mention an artic lorry nearly blowing me into the hill........ Next run out we will try and book some good weather and provide a contact number to call to check if the run is on or not. Sunny Sundays appear to be a rarity during the summer this year and last year. Global warming my arse!!!! I wont mention Mr H heading south in his Jeep (what is it they say about fairweather bikers)

Run Out 15th June
9am somewhere just outside thurso the rain is pissing down like you have never seen. By 930am it has dried up a bit and the decision to go back to sleep has been abandoned and I set off into town to see if any other brave (stupid) souls have decided to chance a run out. The frog rolls up with a spare tank on the Max followed by John and an almost late Ray. After a quick fuel stop its west to Bettyhill we go. After getting bombarded by rocks from the frogs back tyre on the newly done bit of road going west out of melvich I decide its time to clear a few cobwebs and pass him. Good job he wasnt using his V boost or I would of been knackered. First stop is a layby in Bettyhill to discuss the weather and the rest of the route. The sun is shinning and the weather is looking good so its off we go down Strath Naver. Mental note to self the bike wont run with side stand down!! You really had to be there. Sheep were fleeing in every direction and old ladies were waving enthusiastically (I think the frog has been up west before on stealth missions) From Syre we head on the the remotest pub in mainland britain for a toastie and a cup of tea. Kennys hope of refuelling here is dashed when he discovers the pump has long since fallen into disrepair (see pictures) From investigation it looks as if the pump last operated when petrol was 80pence a gallon!!!!!! Onwards again to Kinbrace and the Kildonnan where the railway crossing scared the crap out of us all. No flashing lights and a train approaching. Unbeknown to us the train has to give way at this crossing but it is very disconcerting to see a train approaching and tooting its whistle just as you have crossed the track and know that there are still 3 bikes following behind you. A quick stop to remove bike seats from arse cracks and on we went down the amazing Glen Loth Road. Now if you havent been on this road before I wont spoil it for you but needless to say we all wish we had bikes with more suspension travel. If you have been on this road well you will know all about it!!! Once at the end of the Glen Loth road it was back to the A9 and a quick blast to Brora to refuel before going for the standard Capaldis ice cream. Whilst munching our ice cream a certain musician arrives to out eat us on the ice cream front. I wont mention any names mr soloventure!! After the ice cream it was a run back on proper (ish) roads to Dunbeath where we bailed in to see Sonic and co for another cup of tea and a blether There was meant to be an erection at sonics but we didnt see it as aparently it was too windy. There was a sighting of a rare Rock whale at dunbeath harbour to make up for the lack of erection. A great fun day out and some good cracks (Literally) on the road out. So in the style of Ewan Macgreggor and Charlie Boorman it was a long way down. Glen loth is something everyone should experience at least once!

Have a great rally guys and hope it goes well. Wish I could be there but I timed starting my new job a bit wrong!!! Never mind I'll just have to go to the beach instead and not to collect sand for the fag buckets for outside the hall!!

All the very best for the weekend and here's some love from Malaysia.
